Hi,
I'm using the Samsung TS-160 HD set-top box as provided by Directv. I have
the box connected to my system via svideo. It is able to tune/record to all
the channels, including the HD ones (HBO-HD, etc...), but of course only
through the svideo port, which is fine for what I'm doing. My problem comes
up with my local stations. I can not get MCE to tune to my local networks
using *-1, or *-2, etc... Of course I can change to those channels manually
using the remote provided with the set top box and see it just fine in MCE,
but I'm unable to use MCE to tune to those stations. Those stations don't
show up in the guide either, which means I can't schedule recordings.
Before anyone says anything regarding recording HD content using a set-top
box, I'm outputting the HD channel via a svideo port. Meaning it's in SD.
The samsung box is doing the converting.
Thanks in advance for the replies!!
I have the same set box Samsung TS-160 HD, and I have the same problem, I can
not get *-1 *-2 or *-3 (like 2-1 or 5-2) on the HDTV channels to add to the
guide.
If you find out you let me know
