I'll assume you can connect to the internet just fine if you close Media
Center and just open an Internet Explorer window. If you are outside the US,
search this group for the country you are in and see if you can find a
solution. I've read several posts about people with what seem to be similar
problems and they may have found a solution. Otherwise, I would repost with
more specific information about your computer's hardware and your location so
other can better help you out.
