- Using DVB-S tuner in Vista Media Center
- Posted by Brian W on November 16th, 2007
Is there anyway to use a DVB-S (European satellite) tuner card in Vista
Media Center? I can use the DVB-T tuner for Freeview, but MCE won't identify
the satellite tuner card (Hauppauge WinTV Nova-S Plus).
Can I 'fool' Media Center into working with this card?
Thanks in advance!
(Hoping MS add support for DVB-S in a future update...)

Yes, Hauppauge have produced fake DVB-T drivers for this card. It's a pity that it doesn't support a
CI as you can only receive Free To Air channels but that should still give you plenty of channels
depending on which country/language you require. This is extensively discussed over on AVForums.

I think that you need to get them from the German support site

There is discussion of using the Nova-S Plus in Media Center in the UK Hauppauge forums e.g.
