video blanking
Posted by stormer256 on February 3rd, 2006

I have a major issue with media edition 2005. Since update rollup 2 randomly
my video blanks. This is a random occurance and doesnt seem to be linked to
any other event. To get the video back i have to do a manual reboot and then
all is well until it happens again. I have all the updates available ,
decoder is nvidia purevideo with an nvidia dual tuner board and an nvidia
6200 agp card. all this on a P4 3.2 prescott, with 1 gig of ram. I have
swapped slots made surei had all the newest drivers and nothing seems to
help. help!!!

I cannot believe no one has a clue to this problem. Let me define video
blanking. Monitor goes blank and displays a " no video input" message , audio
continues . There is no warning and no debugging output as the only recovery
is a cold boot.
nvidia agp 6200
p4 3.2 ghz prescott
creative labs audigy 2
nvidia dual tuner tv card
1 gig pc 3200 dual channel ddr

It appears that you video card is frezzing up.
What size power supply do you have?
Is there any possiblilty that the card is overheating?
