- "Video Card or Drivers Not Compatible" Error with a Compatible Car
- Posted by MikeyUK on October 7th, 2005
I have MCE2005 and using an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 video card (which IS on
the compatible hardware list for MCE2005), and the latest Nvidia MCE 77.79
WHQL drivers
When I start the system I get an error popup "The Video Card or Drivers are
not compatible with Media Center", however when I click OK to acknowledge the
error MCE launches successfully
I have noticed that I only get the error when I output to TV via S-Video.
When I output to an LCD monitor I do not get the error and MCE launches
without a problem
Can anyone please help?
Cheers, Mike

Tis error is not unique to graphics cards. This error description also
applies if the your TV tuner/Video capture card or its drivers are not
compatible. Some users reporting this error found that it was being caused
by their DVD Decoder which decodes the encoded video not being MCE
compatible.

I have to admit I am somewhat baffled by the sequence of events you are
having.
Are you connecting both the TV and the Monitor and selecting the TV as the
primary display and then shuting down disconnecting the Monitor and booting
with only the TV connected?
