Motorola DCT-700, on Comcast

I just recieved a new cable box. The one before it was an HD box but since I
wasn't using the HD channels I opted to get the 'cheaper per month' cable
box, the DCT-700, boy was that a mistake.

Everything is setup exactly how it was before ( because it was working just
fine ) the only thing that has changed is the DCT-700.

I tried all the codes and retaught the IR blaster deal the comcast
numbers/channel up/down and everything lights up and seems to function and
respond the same as before.. except the channels never change. arg!

Its like Comcast built in some sort of protection against MCE IR blasters in
this thing. I was told these are the 'new' digital boxes. ugh.

Please help me.. my wife can't do without recording her favoriate shows..
what do ya do.

What do you guys suggest.. is this a new phenomenon? I noticed that others
are having the same problems with this model.

Try moving the MCE IR emter cable too the left or right (about 10mm) of the
IR eye on the Motorola box.
