- Weird resolution with DVI/HDMI input
- Posted by John M on January 2nd, 2006
I don't even know how to describe this problem but I have a Sony SXRD TV with
a VGA input and two HDMI's. I have my Media PC plugged into both ports with
an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AGP card.
My problem is that since the VGA input will not display a full screen, I
have to use the HDMI input on the TV plugged into my DVI port on the video
card. The image with DVI/HDMI looks odd though. The best way I can describe
it is very very sharp. Watching a Family Guy DVD for instance shows blocked
lines around the characters instead of a smooth black line. The VGA input
does not have this problem. The image on that connection is very smooth, but
it doesn't take up the whole screen.
Any ideas on why this image is so "sharp"?
