Windows Media Center 2005 is XP Pro, with the Media Center software on top of it. The only things missing in MCE, to differentiate it from Professional are the ability to join a domain, except at initial installation and caching of logon credentials.
If you need these features, you need to check the web site for the manufacturer of your PC and download their drivers for Media Center or XP Pro. Copy them to a CD or some other media, then purchase XP Pro (2 copies) and perform a clean installation.
