Windows Media Center Remote Control
Posted by Tom Stover on November 20th, 2005

Using the Dell Media Center icon on my computer, I can watch live TV on the
channel of my choice. However, the remote control provided by Dell does not
work at all. I have installed the batteries. When I press any key on the
remote, a green light goes on, indicating that the remote has power, but the
function associated with the key is not executed. Any help would be
appreciated.

Try unplugging the receiver and plugging it in again. It should find the
hardware again.

another thing to try which fixes the MS remote in most cases is to remove
the batteries, get a straightened paper clip and short the positive and
negative terminals of the remote together for a second or two and then put
the batteries back in.
