Wrong Guide Data in Windows Media Center
Posted by USMC Judge on October 29th, 2005

After I installed RU2, I noticed that the guide information was wrong.

Although some of the channel information is still right, 90% of the guide is
showing either an incorrect channel, or the same channel more than once (i.e.
cartoon network disappeared from the guide, the History channel is being
listed as channel 47 (Nick), and it is also being listed as channel 34 (the
correct channel). Some of the channels are still intact (Speed, SpikeTV,
etc).

I ran the WMCE guide setup again, following instructions as per KB to make
sure the right guide data was downloaded, but it's still wrong. I also tried
downloading for another zip code (28545, 28546), and the data is still wrong.

I then went to submit this issue to microsoft through the website, and I
find that the submit button isn't working (amazing).

www.tvguide.com has the correct listing, as do other websites. Any ideas on
how I can fix this problem?

P.S.: I'm inside the Marine Corps Air Station New River, so don't bother to
post comments telling me to change providers. We get one provider, and
that's it.

I'm at the Marine Corps Air Station in New River, N.C. I download the guide
for Camp Lejeune, Charter Communications (not digital). It appears that
another change was made, and the guide is now somewhat closer to correct than
before... but there are some channels that just disappered completely.
