- Xbox 360 Extender & MCE Remote
- Posted by CuriousGeorge on February 23rd, 2006
I was under the impression that a standard MCE remote (the Microsoft variety
at least) would work with an XBox 360, at least enough to control the
Extender functions. I tried last night and absolutely none of the buttons
worked.
Should this work?
I did get the free XBox remote with my 360 Platinum purchase and it works
fine, but it wont control my TV volume. The MCE remote can be programmed to
control TV On/Off and volume. But I need it to work with the XBox as well.

You may need to configure your Xbox to listen to the Media Center remote.
From the Xbox 360 dashboard, navigate to System > Console Settings > Remote
Control and select All Channels (vs. Xbox 360 Media Remote)
