- BDC problem
- Posted by Richard Ling on March 15th, 2005
Currently running an AD domain in 2000 mixed mode. I have a BDC (NT4 SP6a)
that will not sync with the windows 2003 DC (PDC emulator).
I have tried using netdom bdc dcname /reset but I get a failure "Logon
failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this
computer." I can ping the PDC but cannot map a drive.
I have also tried the same from the PDC but get Access is denied. My
account is a member of domain admins.
Please can you suggest how I can rectify this issue.
Thanks
Richard

This sounds like you do not have netbios connectivity to the Win2k3 machine.
If you cannot map a drive than most likely some ports could be blocked. Are
these machines on different subnets? Can you browse to the Win2k3 machine
from the NT machine?
