- No GUI after Login
- Posted by Stephen on October 15th, 2003
After I enter the login name and password and click OK
the login screen disappears and I am left with a blank
screen. The desktop never appears to me. Why?

Is explorer.exe still set to be your shell in
HKLM\software\microsoft\windowsNT\currentversion\w inlogon\shell?
If so, [re]install SP6a with no processes running, especially not Internet
Explorer. Check the processes tab on the task manager to be sure there are
no invisible iexplore.exe's running. If there are, kill them.
