NT4 reboot issue
Posted by Paul Hanson on August 21st, 2003

I have a Compaq Proliant 1600R, NT4, SP6a (latest updates)
and the thing decides it needs random reboots.

It does not happen at a specific time, or at times
anywhere near each other (i.e. reboots at 2am one time,
5pm another, midnight, etc etc)

Stop codes galore but from what I'm reading it's
sugggested to upgrade to the latest service pack (um,
already there) or to replace hardware. I'm not about to
replace random hardware in attempts to make this run
longer.

I've shutdown the Compaq agents (all of them), stopped
unecessary services, and disabled software that no one
else can remember installing or it's purpose.

Any suggestions?

What's the Stop Error? Sounds like some piece of hardware is failing.
Typically RAM is the easiest to replace and that is the cause a lot of
times. Any new patches or updates that occured before this?
