systraylog.txt file
Posted by wouter on October 8th, 2004

Hi,

I have a really weird thing going on here. Since last week i noticed that in
some user homedirs (including my own!) a .txt file systraylog.txt is created.
It looks like this:

14:00:19:0348 CMPConnection::connect enter
14:00:19:0364 LibMp loaded in connect.
14:00:19:0364 CMPConnection::waitForStateChange enter
14:00:19:0364 Threads started.
14:00:19:0364 CMPConnection::waitForStateChange enter
14:00:23:0364 GetOverallStatus refresh from the driver
14:00:23:0364 GetOverallStatus refresh from the driver
13:59:36:0406 GetOverallStatus refresh from the driver

the notification "GetOverallStatus refresh from the driver" keeps getting
logged 2 times every minute. But sometimes even more.

I have no clue where this is coming from, but i really dont trust it.

When i delete the txt file, it is automaticly recreated.

Anyone got any ideas. I dont know what to do with this.

Thanks.

Greets Wouter

I am also experiencing a similar problem with this systraylog.txt
file. We are running Windows XP workstations connecting to EMC
storage. Could you please expand on what EMC have confirmed to you
about this problem. There doesnt seem to be any information about this
anywhere else so I’d be most grateful if you could expand on you last
comment.

Many Thanks
Duncan

I am experiencing the same on a windows 2003 server connected to an EMC san.

The file is in c:\Documents and Settings\%username% and is hundreds of
Megabytes large. I have one server at which it stopped the day before
yesterday. At that day i upgraded the QLogic HBA drivers from 9.0.0.12 to
9.0.1.17 and EMC powerpath software from 3.05 to 4.3.1. The log is not
filling up anymore on this server. Are any of you running powerpath software
or using qlogic drivers ?

Cheers for all replies. The issue has been confirmed by EMC as a
problem with Powerpath (i think it is specifically v 3.0.5). The
systraylog.txt file has made appearances on both the servers hosting
powerpath and management workstations connecting to these servers via
Terminal Services. Our resolution is to implement v3.0.6 and then a
patch on top of that in our environment. I would recommend that anyone
experiencing this issue contacts EMC support for a specific fix for
their particular environment.
