XP won't login to NT 4.0 Server
Posted by Chris on October 27th, 2003

For some reason last week my XP computers stop being able
to login to a NT 4.0 server. The Windows 2000 systems can
login with no problem but the XP machines can not login.
They see the NT server in the workgroup, and using the
same login as the Win2k machines can not login. Is there
something that would cause this to occur?

In the workgroup? If it's a workgroup, then the issue probably isn't server
related. What does "can not login" mean, anyway? Is there an error
message?

Yes this is in a workgroup. Meaning that it "can not
login" means that after I type in the login name and
password (that work when doing it from a Win2k
workstation) the login screen pops back with the NT
server's name and the user name I was using. It's like it
does not want to accept the username and password I'm
giving it.

Thanks
