- another urgent questions about Symantec scans - cannot find this info on Symantec or internet
- Posted by Libbi Bosworth on March 21st, 2006
Users at workstations are required to log out after their day ends. They
are not required to reboot. The Symantec software is setup to run a virus
scan each morning. The virus defintions are being updated. What happens is
when the user logs in, a very short scan called "defwatch' is run, which
scans memory, checks for spyware and adware. This takes LESS than one
minute. This is making me very uncomfortable. Shouldn't it be scanning the
boot sector at the minimum?
