- ASR backup to tape gets to "Insert Media" and will not detect tape
- Posted by Matt Landis on July 6th, 2004
Hello,
We ran theASR wizard. We have an ASR floppy and Sony AIT-1 tape with
complete backup on it (per wizard).
Because things rarely work if untested, we did a test and the ASR recovery
goes fine until the tape restore part. Backup Utility opens and then a
"Insert Media" "Insert the following media: Operating System Backup 7/5/2004
Media #1". This tape is in the tape drive but it just keeps asking for
it...( like the tape driver not loaded?) It appears there is no "tape"
restore from location behind the screen I'm on...although I can't get back
there to look for sure.
What do we do? Is the tape driver not loaded? Does ASR actually work?
Thanks!
Matt

Jerold,
I don't think the AIT driver is on the Windows 2003 Standard CD. And I
cannot find the txtsetup.oem file that setup seems to need. Is this what I
need? Sony doesn't seem to have a txtsetup.oem file for this drive and I'm
clueless on how to create one. Is this really what I need?
Again thanks,
Matt

Jerold,
Sony sent me the txtsetup.oem file I needed via my distributor. This fixed
the issue!
Thanks for your input. Also, your website is VERY helpful for other issues
I've worked with.
Again,thanks.
Matt
