Best design for a laptop to be a domain member but still function when off site?
Posted by Ian Groves on February 15th, 2005

What is the best way to have a laptop as a domain member but still function
when it is off site as a standalone machine?

Can the laptop user still log on with their domain username and password
(and use their normal profile) even though the laptop is not connection to
the domain when off site?

I presume i need to use 'Offline Files' to keep the my docs upto-date?

Thanks in advance.

Ian.

practices I've read recommend disabling it. (This assumes that laptop
users are traveling and potentially have less control of their computers
