Hi,
I have a Win2003R2 server running in a lab to test out new patches,
programs etc.
It has 2 GB of physical RAM.
The server runs VMware server and around 5 virtual machines at any
given time. This is a stable setup for weeks. However, the server will
freeze if I transfer large files to the host machine. "Large" means a
CD or DVD ISO file. This freeze will only occur if all virtual machines
are running and therefore the physical RAM is completely used. If I
shut down all virtual machines and THEN transfer the files it's working
fine. This leads me to the impression that some "buffer" is filling up
and the host machine will freeze. There is no bluescreen, the machine
simply stops responding, the screen is frozen up. I can then only press
the reset switch on the front. Server has all official patches
installed and the latest Intel network drivers.
I searched in the groups and found these topics:

These remind me of my problem although it's not the same. Anyone has
any idea? It seems like a strange bug for a server OS.
