Cached Credentials
Posted by RNewton on July 22nd, 2004

I have a group of remote users that take their laptops home and need access
to resources on their home networks but unless they VPN to my network they
receive the "There are currently no logon servers to service your request"
error.

Is there a setting that prevents this message when using cached credentials?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

when do they receive this error? When they try to logon or?

Check this policy on your clients (this policy could be set on domain or OU
level)...

Start > Run > gpedit.msc > Under computer settings drill down to Windows
Setting > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options > here look
for a settings: "Interactive Logon: Number of previous logons to cache (in
case domain controller is not available)" This setting is by default set to
10. What is your settings set to? If it is 0 put it to something that is
more then 1.

I hope this helps,

Mike
