Checking Outbound Fax Status
Posted by Kieran on February 2nd, 2005

Hi

In SBS2003, is there a way to check outgoing fax status from client pcs? I
can check it on the server using Manage Fax Jobs ...

Thanks

Hi Kieran,

You can enable e-mail response to users. When user "prints" to fax he can
ask for email of sent fax. When fax isn'r sent within time limit, user gets
e-mail reporting this.

I don't know the details on installation at the moment, except that I
implemented this not long ago just using the Windows 2003 Help for Fax
service.

Hope this helps,

Richard

Hi Kieran,

I checked and giving "fax receipts" reports to users is configured in the
Microsoft Fax Service Manager (Fax(local) > Properties > Receipts)
You can configure both e-mail and Pop-up messages to clients who sent faxes
to the fax server.

Have fun!

Thanks Richard!

Does that response work if you choose to print to the fax, as opposed to
sending a fax via Outlook? (or maybe it doesnt matter?!?)
