corrupted login created a new user login and folder structure
Posted by fdeckerNOSPAMM@aol.com on December 18th, 2006

We are using windows server 2000 on one of our servers. We have a
win2003 server also that runs as a domain, but the win2k sever machine
is just a regular network machine. We often remote desktop into this
machine. The last time we did, there was an error message about
something being corrupt. I'm not sure what the user answered, but now
whenever that user logs in, they have an entirely new login, despite
the user name and password being the same. How can I fix this back?
So lets say the user is JimB. They used to login as JimB with their
password. On the win2k server machine, I can still see the JimB folder
under "documents and settings". But now, there is a new folder
structure there under JimB.ServerName. So now when JimB logs in, it
goes to JimB.ServerName instead of JimB where all his settings and
desktop are. Thanks

Sounds like JimB is logging in locally instead of logging into the domain.
