If I have a user that has left, then returns and I have there roaming profile
folder on the server (a new server since they left but the same name). I
recreate the user in AD (2003 Svr) then point the profile to the users old
profile, when they log on they get some of the bits working but policies
don't work, outlook won't start, back ground blank etc etc just problems.

I know it's because the ntuser.dat file has the RID or SID of the old user
or server, is there away I can get the registery or system to rewrite the
correct data for the new user into ntuser.dat without me having to delete his
NTuser.dat, log him on with a new profile, create a new ntuser.dat then copy
that into his old profile and point him to his old profile again?

I need hime to keep his old ntuser.dat, long story to explain why but I do.
