- DHCP server service randomly dropping - Windows 2003 Server
- Posted by DG on October 31st, 2005
Currently, we have a Windows 2003 member server at one of our sites that
occassionally the DHCP server service stops at least once a day and not
always at the same time. As a result we have to manually start the service up
again. We checked all the event logs but nothing is logged for DHCP other
than it was started up again. The DHCP logs don't seem to indicate why this
would occur. There are no other devices or servers at this site that would
conflict or cause DHCP to go down. Would anyone have any ideas as to what we
could try to troubleshhoot this issue? If so, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Have you checked DRWTSN32 ? Often services will have exceptions logged here
if they are not showing up in the event log.
