Disk Space Issue

Hi,

We have a server running Windows 2003 server and it has two partitions on it
- C: drive and D: drive. We are really running out of space quickly on the
C: drive and have 50GB of available space on the D: drive. Is there an easy
way to move space from the D: drive onto the C: drive?

Don't know who created such a large partition, but now we're stuck!

Thanks,

Sian

Hi

There is no "easy" way of doing this. First things first, I would make sure
you have a backup of your entire server. Secondly, check where your page file
resides. It could be possible to change this to your D Drive. Thirdly you can
always change the environment variables (if you right click my computer and
click properties, and then advanced) you can change the location of your temp
folders. I would suggest moving these to the D Drive too. If this still does
not give you the space required, you can always try using a third party
partition tool such as partition magic etc.

You could also migrate your Exchange databases to D: (assuming that you have
any, and that they are on C

There's quite a few messages in this and other groups on this problem.
I had it too, witha n SBS server.
Maybe MS should think about increasing size the default C: drive ?
On our SBS it was 12 Go.
That is not enough.

(Once I had a techie from Dell Support who came to repair a failed disk and
when he left I had a C: drive of 4 Giga !!)
