Failed HD Mirror
Posted by tlc on July 26th, 2007

Hello,
I am running 2003 Server in a server with 6 SCSI hard disks. I have a
software array of 2 O/S mirrored, 4 data Raid 5. SCSI disk 0 had failed with
bad blocks. Originally, I could not get it to boot, missing or corrupt
c/windows/sys32/config/system. Corrected that and booted into O/S. Mirrored
disks appear as Online w/errors. I need to replace the drive. I tried to
remove the mirror from Disk 0, however, I get an error :Logical Disk Manager,
operation failed to complete. The server is running for now, but I need to
replace this drive. Can someone help.
Thanks,

Andrew,
My only concern is that the system disk is the drive that is bad. If I
understand what I am reading, if I break the mirror, the c: drive letter will
go to the disk that is not the book disk. Will this keep me from being able
to boot the server?
