Help Please, to recover a deleted Software RAID-5 Volume
Posted by Hua Hua on November 29th, 2004

I have Windows 2003 file Server. A software RAID-5 volume has just been
deleted accidentally.
Please someone could help me to recover/undelete the volume. Is there any
way to reconstruct the Volume without losing data? Is there any 3rd party
software product could do this job.

The server is a DELL 400SC with 3 IDE disks

OS: Windows Server 2003 Standard
All disks are IDE dynamic disks
Disk1: IDE 80G (10G Simple Voluem for Boot System, + 70G for software
Raid-5 Volume, now unallocated)
Disk2: IDE 120G (50G Simple Volume, + 70G for software Raid-5 Volume, now
unallocated)
Disk3: IDE 120G (50G Simple Volume for PageFile, + 70G for software Raid-5
Volume, now unallocated)

Thanks very much in advance.

Thanks

I have tried the raid reconstructior from runtime. It can not find the
correct block size rotation etc.

Do you have any technical info on Windows Server 2003 Software Raid 5, such
as default block size, disk order and rotation.

Thanks
