IIS 6.0 admin from WinXP
Posted by Ken L on July 26th, 2007

I am having problems administrering a Win2003 Server R2 IIS website from
Windows XP. I installed the Adminpak.msi from the \I386 folder of disk 1 of
the Server install disk, but I continue to get an error message stating I
can't administer a IIS6.0 system from an IIS5.1 system when I try to connect
to the Win2003 server IIS using the mmc snap-in.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks in advance. Please post any replies to the newsgroup.

Ken

Thanks Coraleigh . . . that did the trick . . . I don't know why they
packaged it differently than in the past (i.e., not in the Adminpak). Don't
know why my searches of the KB didn't turn it up . . . I must have been
having a bad-search-day.
