Install - Things Missing
Posted by Trevor on March 3rd, 2004

Hello,

I have been asked to evaluate Small Business Server 2003.
I downloaded the software from MSDN subscriber downloads
and installed.

When i arrived at the desktop for the first time none of
the feature i was expecting were available. It just
seemed to be a "base" install. I didnt miss anything out
when installing it.

I was expecting to see stuff about the built in intranet
sharepoint and exchange email capabilities.

Where are these?? I checked in the setup options, add and
remove programs and there was nothing missing.

Perhaps the version on MSDN is missing some components?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Trev

When you say "at the desktop for the first time" do you mean the very first
time? If so, you haven't installed SBS yet (only Win2k3)... there should be
an icon on the upper left corner saying that you should continue the
installation.

Is that what you are talking about?

Do you see a continue setup icon on your desktop? If so you will need to
finish the install. If not go to CD 1 and continue the install.

Thank you,
