Installing MSI's at system startup
Posted by Jeff M. on October 11th, 2004

Hello,
I went through a boot-camp to get my MCSE eight months ago. Well,
since that time, I haven't been working with a 2000 domain and have lost
some of my skills. Recently, I got a new job (will start in 2 weeks)
and will finally put my MCSE to work.
When going through the training, I remember you could setup MSI/MST
files on the server so that when either a group/user or computer logs
in, the software will be installed on the client machine.
Where can I look up this information so I can work on it via a VMware
network running Win2k Server and WinXP Pro.
Thanks.. -Jeff

Hi,

That's in the Group Policy, Computer Configuration, Software Settings,
Software installation (at least, that's where it is on 2003, but I believe
it should be similar on 2000)
