- Installing SBS 2003 on Dell PowerEdge
- Posted by Pheasant Plucker® on January 18th, 2005
Hi there,
I recently installed SBS 2003 on my new Poweredge 1600SC server using Dells
Open Manage Server Assistant.
I noticed that it installed the 31MB Dell Diagnostic partition (which I
want) but when it installed SBS 2003 it only allocated @60GB out of a 250GB
drive.
I am replacing an aging Acer server and recall when installing NT4 there was
a limit as to the partition size which could be installed - 4GB ISTR.
Is there a limit on the partition size for SBS 2003 and if not could it be
that Dell's Open Manage Server Assistant is the problem?
I would like to utilise the whole 250GB (minus the 31MB or so for the Dell
Diagnostic partition) if possible.

Thanks & regards,

These are options you select when using the Dell bootale setupCD. You set
the options when you do the raid setup and when you allocate the drive size
for the system install drive (c: by default)
