- KB904942 not installing

I am trying to manually install this update, KB904942, I downloaded the
appropriate hotfix from Microsoft,
WindowsServer2003-KN904942-x86-ENU.exe, and ran it and rebooted.
However when I go to windows update it tells me that it has not been
installed. It also does not show up in add/remove programs.
Browsing to windows update is not a viable solution.
Does anyone know what's wrong?

May I know where did you get IE7 for WinServer 2003?

Thank you for your response, but currently this production server does
not have IE 7.0, but it is a viable update to the server and I try to
keep all of my servers full patched. Again when one server has this
hot fix install manually, from the downloaded version, it never shows
up in add / remove programs and windows update says it is not
installed. But if I install it from windows update it installs just
fine. I need to be able to push this as a manual install. I DO want
install it.

On the unsuccessful servers, can you see if you have the KB904942.log file
created under %windir%? If yes, kindly upload it here.
FYI, I tried installing the above patch on a W2k3 R2 Enterpries machine and
I'm seeing it under Add/Remove programs.
