- Moving Print Queues
- Posted by K on March 21st, 2006
We are in the process of replacing one of our servers which hosts several
print queues.
Server is 2003 SP1 as it's replacement.
The new server is currently online but with a temporary name. It will
eventually take the same name as the server it is replacing (to save
re-creating every user's print mappings).
What is the easiest way of copying the print queues/drivers to the new
server?
Thanks

Use Microsoft's Print Migrator:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
It works for 2000/2003. It will backup all print queues, ports, and
drivers, making a single .cab file.
Then, run the utility on the new server, and it will unpack everything
nice and quick.
