- MSSQL$BKUPEXEC service hung on starting.
- Posted by Guy on March 21st, 2007
Hi Guys,
I've got a real weird problem. I recently upgraded our network to a
domain and made the only server into the dc. However after the
upgrdae I noticed that most of my applications weren't working. Alot
of the executable files were missing.
We use veritas to backup the data however when i start the server the
MSSQL$BKUPEXEC service doesn't start it just hangs and says it's
starting.
I don't even remember installing sql, is it part of the veritas
install?? I have reinsalled veritas but it won't work until the MSSQL
$BKUPEXEC service starts.
what should I do??
cheers,
Guy

Contact Symantec the current owners of Backup Exec.

I don't know if they support older versions but they are the first place to
check. Backup Exec does use MSDE (SQL).
