- Multiple hostnames on Server 2003R2
- Posted by Sean on August 24th, 2006
Hello all,
I have users that map a drive to \\server1\share .
I setup a cname that says newname --> server1
I've tried getting mapping to \\newname\share and it doesn't work.
I had a feeling it wouldn't and now am trying to find the right solution
to this.
thank you!
Sean

Connecting to SMB share on a Windows 2000-based computer or a Windows Server
2003-based computer may not work with an alias name
