Netlogon Error 5782
Posted by Sanjay Mehta on June 25th, 2008

Hi,

I have 2 windows 2003 domain controllers. Each pointing to itself first and
then the other DC.

On one of the DC I get the following error:

Source: Netlogon
Event ID: 5782

Dynamic registration or deregistration of one or more DNS records failed
with the following error:
No DNS servers configured for local system.

So what could be wrong?

Thanks

Hello Sanjay,

Do you also use the ISP's DNS server on the NIC? Check that the DHCP client
service is running, it is needed for DNS registration. Check the "Register
this connection's addresses in DNS" check box that is located on the DNS
tab in the Advanced TCP/IP Settings dialog box. Should be checked. Enable
Dynamic Updates on your DNS servers on both zones. If not enable and restart
NetLogon service.

Best regards

Hello Sanjay,

It's ok. What about the other options?
