- NTBackup on 2003 "non unique tape" problems
- Posted by michitsch@gmail.com on December 13th, 2004
In Windows Server 2003 there is a new command in the Removable Storage
Manager to rename tapes, so what I do is rename the tape just before I
use the ntbackup command with the /um to write to that tape. I've
found that /um was not renaming the tape as I think it used to do in
Windows 2000. My free script is named NTBackupScript and you can get
it at http://ntbackup.no-ip.com
It may save you from having to deallocate all your tapes all the time.
Good Luck!
