- PB WITH FORWARDERS
- Posted by Xavier Catillon on February 21st, 2005
Hello,
I just upgraded my domain controllers from NT4 to W2K.
All is working fine but I have a problem with the DNS.
I receive the following event within the event viewer : the dns server
encountered an invalid domain name in a packet from ********** the packet is
rejected.
If I disable the forwarders, all is working fine and when I enable the
forwarders I have the pb.
When forwarders are enable the applications are very slow and when it's
disable the applications work fine.
With NT4 in both cases the application work fine.
I install a patch from Microsoft but it didn't resolve anything
Any idea ? Thanks for your replies.
Xavier.

Is the IP you masked with ********** an internal or external IP host?

This is a subnet range on a remote site but to be considered as an internal
address.
