- Which Performs Better? Single RAID/Multiple Volumes or Multiple RAID/Single Volume?
- Posted by bwillyerd@dshs.wa.gov on May 25th, 2006
I have been tasked with putting together a mass storage device. It is
an MSA1000 from HP using 14 300GB UltraSCSI drives. The device will be
housing DB files (log files on another device). From a performance
standpoint which would be best. Or if you have a better solution....
1. Single array single volume.
2. Single array multiple volumes.
3. Multiple arrays' single volume.
4. Multiple arrays' multiple volumes.
Any and all opinions are appreciated! BTW, if you could point me to
some good reading material that would also be greatly appreciated.
TIA!
Bill
