I wonder will Windows server 2003 itself do the plug & play hardware scan
periodically?

I have a tape library, W2k3 servers and SAN. The SAN path to the library on
the W2k3 server often change, say Tape0 is defined to point to
drive0(WWNN=500308C09BA75018), but some day Tape0 points to
drive1(WWNN=500308C09BA75090). The server has not been restarted. It is
curious.

We also have a SAN, a Tape library and 2003 server. Never have problems.
What backup software do you use?
