Hi. I am planning on implementing a Group Policy on an OU that
contains remote users that work from laptops. Currently their data is
stored locally and they can access network shares when connecting to
VPN.
My goal is to have these users work w/ an Offline Folder that will be
synchronized with a network share. So...I have created a Group Policy
that will redirect users' 'My Documents' folder to a network share. I
tested this by copying data into 'My Documents', moving the users
account to the OU that has the policy applied and then logging onto the
domain through VPN. The folder was created successfully and the data
was then synchronized to the Share. I then disconnected from VPN and
then XP alerted me that I was now working 'OFFLINE'.
But when I delete files from the 'My Documents' while offline, it is
saying it cannot be moved to the recycle bin and it must be permanently
deleted. WHY?
And is there a way to set a storage limit on these Offline Folders???
What are some good practices for this type of implementation??
Thanks!!
