Hello Group,

When clicking on Libraries under Removable Storage, the server hangs for
about 5 minutes. Also, all media inserted into the tap drive (Compaq DDS-3)
is misidentified (usually as an arbitrary integer e.g. 8 or 10).

I've tried many combinations of drivers and even updated the tape drive
firmware, all with the same result.

The tape drive is on the same SCSI bus as our two (mirrored) hard drives and
a 3 drive striped set. I can reply back with more detailed hardware info if
needed.

What is the easiest way to determine if this a hardware or software problem?
Everything worked fine under Windows 2000 Server but hasn't since installing
(fresh) Windows Server 2003. This points to it being a software problem,
however given the number of drivers I've tried (Microsoft vs. Compaq drivers
for both the tape drive and the SCSI Adapter [Symbios Logic 53C875
Ultra-Wide SCSI])

Any clues?
