What do you have in the way of an e-mail server? If you're using Exchange,
it's very easy and you don't have to do anything special.
If you're storing e-mail in PST files, then you're stuck. Microsoft doesn't
recommend storing PST files on the network and they're generally too large
to copy to and from a workstation as part of a roaming profile.

I'm not actually using Exchange 2003 yet, so I can't say how difficult or
easy it is. Much easier than Exchange 2000, if the things I'm hearing are
true. As far as the client settings and resolving your actual query are
concerned, it makes things very easy.
However, you have the added complexity of running an Exchange server to
contend with.
