- Search Assistant window is empty/blank!

Hi, I have tried to find an answer to this problem
without success. The same issue is mentioned in several
places related to Windows XP, but nothing that is
discussed is relevant, nor does it work in this
instance. When I open Search/Files & Folders from the
Start Menu, or click on Search within I.E., all I get is
a blue-background pane on the left side with an 'X' to
close the toolbar, no options/text-boxes/buttons/etc, no
way to search for anything at all. Can anyone shed some
light on this issue, specific to Windows Server 2003?

We can perform the following to troubleshoot this problem:
1. Use an administrator account to test this issue.
2. Create a new user account to test this issue.
3. Test in Safe Mode.
4. If we still cannot see the any content on that panel,
you can use sfc /scannow command to work on this issue. We
also may repair Windows to work on it.

Join the club, I spent at least 3 days trying to find an answer to this
before discovering this news group. Not only can I not search for files
and such, I cannot go to any search engines on the internet, Google,
Yahoo, even MSN all come up with invalid syntax and page cannot be found
errors. Anyone have an answer to this one?

Oh, I installed Firefox and I can get to search pages with no problem, so
it is an explorer issue, I tried safe mode, ran all kinds of spyware
programs and such and still cannot get to google, or hahoo or msn search,

evaluation server and I am setting up a demo server for Exchange and TS
