*sigh*permissions didn't cascade to subfolders
Posted by Robert Blackwell on October 22nd, 2005

I have a website and I was backing up all the files from that site from a
zip file, and now, all of the files/folders in the website are lacking
permissions for my ftp user. The root folder has that user on the
permissions list but all subfolders do not, thus I can't upload files to
anywhere but root.

How can I fix this, there are hundreds of folders and I can't possibly add
the user to all folders manually.

You could also go to the security settings for the folder and in the
Advanced section you can "push" the security settings down to all folders
and users. I believe, though, that this will change any settings in sub
folders and files (if they are different).
