- Strange Problem on Login Screen
- Posted by JS on August 18th, 2004
Hi,
I'm having a strange problem with my windows server login
screen. It all started when the server disk space was 100%
full and when I tried to login I was getting some kind of
corruption error. I finally was able to delete some files
and get the server back to normal again.
However, eversince we are having this strange problem with
the login screen. We are not able to see the password and
username fields anymore. They are there as we can use the
tab key and see the cursor switching between these two
fields and we're able to enter the username and password
but we're unable to see what we type.
I also notice that the background of windows is now black
instead of gray when the server is logged off.
If you do terminal service you will get the same thing as
well. You will just have to guess where to put the
username and password and it'll let you logged in if
correct.
Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this problem?

Try right-clicking on the desktop, goto properties, then
to appearance, and finally make sure your settings are at
windows defaults.

You could also try booting up into safe mode or VGA mode if you are unable to
see anything in normal boot mode. Press F8 before the windows splash screen
and select the desired start up.
