- Terminal Services
- Posted by Jim on February 7th, 2005
I've just installed terminal services on a windows 2000 sever using
add/remove programs so that we can connect remotely to the server. The
install went fine but when I try to connect I get the following error
'The client could not connect to the remote computer'
Do I need to enable something on the server?
Thanks

Is your firewall configured to allow pass thru? Are you
connecting using IP or Name?

Firewall does allow pass thru as I can connect to other servers on the same
network. I've tried connecting via IP and name

Hi
I have a problem with my Windows 2000 Terminal Server environment. My
company currently uses Citrix Metaframe XP Release 3 with Windows 2000
Terminal Server in one machine. The connection was working smoothly all
along, until one day, the server that contains all the Terminal Services
client licenses, crashed and I tried several times to boot and login into
that machine but it's useless.
Now the problem that I'm having is that every new user is not being allowed
to login using Citrix connection because Terminal Services is not able to
acquire a new license for that user (since the Terminal Services license
server is down).
Is there any way that I can re-direct the Citrix server to check for
licenses in another Windows 2000 Terminal Services License server?
Thanks a lot.
