trust with Window 2000 domain and Windows 2003 domain
Posted by pepe on November 4th, 2004

I have a Windows 2000 domain controller and I have created a trust to a
Windows 2003 domain in another forest for a development machine.

I am having trouble connecting to the 2003 dc through a share. I can't pick
users to assign permissions and I can't browse to the 2003 server. I keep
getting a:
\\ncm-server\e

There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.

Any help with DNS requirements or anything else for that matter would be
appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Not clear whether this is a two way trust - make sure that the 2003 domain
trusts the 2000 domain.

In the DNS console on the Win2k DC, create a standard Secondary Zone for the
2003 domain name and force a zone transfer.

This is a two way trust. The 2003 trust wizard makes the creation very easy.

I will try the DNS suggestions. Will you be here tomorrow? I will post the
results.

thanks
