I have a strange problem that started a couple of weeks ago. Every once in an
a while a W2K3 server will not respond to a CTRL-ALT-DEL locally or from a
remote connection. I tried Shutdown.exe...nothing happens. I ran windows
update and installed 2 patches that asked for a restart....click OK nothing
happens. If I physically power the server down and then bring it back on it
is fine. This has happend to 4 servers now which have been running W2K3
server for months.
Any ideas?

Sounds like an ACPI issue. Give this article a full read. Title is
'Troubleshooting Windows XP Shutdown Issues' but info is relative to Windows
Server 2003 as well.
